COVID-19 is spread by close contact with people who are sick. Symptoms include cough, fever, and shortness of breath. If you have recently traveled outside of the country and feel ill call your healthcare provider for instructions. For up to the minute guidance and for more information regarding COVID-19, please visit CDC.gov.
New York State Department of Health has also set up a COVID-19 hotline to answer GENERAL your questions, 1-888-364-3065.
Wayne County Public Health has established a hotline for WAYNE COUNTY SPECIFIC information. Please call 315-946-5700. For GENERAL INFORMATION regarding COVID-19, please continue to use the NYSDOH hotline number above.
In partnership with the communities we serve, Wayne County Public Health works to protect the health of our citizens, prevent disease and injury, and help our residents make informed choices about their health.
Disruption to Services Offered at Wayne County Public Health
Some services at Wayne County Public Health are either on-hold or by appointment only. Please see below:
- Adult & Children’s Immunization Clinics are both by appointment only, on a case-by-case basis
- Breastfeeding and Maternal Child Health home visits are suspended until further notice
- Baby Café is cancelled until further notice
- Car seat appointments are suspended until further notice
- The April rabies clinic has been cancelled, but the June rabies clinic has not been cancelled at this time.
Early Intervention and Pre-K:
Wayne County Public Health strongly encourages that EI providers and families practice social distancing and reduce face-to-face visits. Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education visits are STRONGLY DISCOURAGED at this time. Most providers of EI and Pre-K services are currently closed.

The Finger Lakes Regional Early Childhood Coalition(RECC) is a regional consortium of constituents involved in early childhood services for developmental delayed children and their families. The purpose of the RECC is to bring together partners who have a stake in the provision of care for children in the Early Intervention and Preschool Services Programs. Meetings are open to the public and are held in Penn Yan.
