Williamson: Eliza Cooper from A Tea Out Of Time (see program)

1864: Eliza Cooper (1790-1873) lived in Williamson with her husband, Griffith Cooper. Their home was a station on the “Underground Railroad,” with a secret room where escaped slaves on their way to Canada could be hidden if the need arose. Their house still stands today.
