The Wayne County DMV has brought staff in to process limited transactions that do not involve in person interaction.
We will be in the office processing the following mail transactions.
Also here is a list of the requirements for each transaction:
1) A new vehicle registration:
-MV82, DTF802, the title, copy of your driver’s license, and an insurance card dated within 6 months
2) A transfer of existing plates to a new vehicle:
-MV82, DTF802, the title, a copy of your driver’s license, and an insurance card that will need to state replacement vehicle. The date should be the following Monday as that will be when we are processing the transactions. We can also call your insurance agent if you provide their phone number.
3) A transfer of existing plates to a vehicle you own and the title is already in your name:
-MV82, copy of your driver’s license, and an insurance card that states replacement vehicle. The date should be the following Monday as that will be when we are processing the transactions. We can also call your insurance agent if you provide their phone number.
Please include your phone number on the form so we can call you if we have any problems running your transaction. Please include a blank check payable to Wayne County Clerk. We will process your transaction and mail the registration, plates and receipt back to you.
If you have any questions please email firstname.lastname@example.org The email is the best way to reach us with any questions you have.
Thank you for your patience as we work though this epidemic. This is an imperfect stop gap but public and staff safety must be a priority.
