1816 Farmington Quaker Meetinghouse program  “Hester Jeffrey: Temperance; Suffrage; Political Action” At Granger Homestead, 293 N Main St, Canandaigua NY.  Third in free series: The Struggle for Women’s Suffrage: Politics and Race.  Offered with support from Humanities NY.  Speaker Susan Goodier is author of “No Votes for Women: The New York State anti-Suffrage Movement”, and professor at SUNY Oneonta, specializing in US women’s activism, especially suffrage activism, from 1840-1920.  Hester Jeffrey was a suffragist and political activist, organized the WCTU-Woman’s Christian Temperance Union in Rochester, the National Assn of Colored Women’s Clubs, and was a friend and eulogist of Susan B Anthony.  Informal Q&A to follow.
